What can I expect at my first appointment?
You can expect your first appointment to last anywhere between 90-120 minutes. This will consist of a thorough evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment on the same day. Your therapist will discuss with you in length what their determination is and how we are going to get you feeling better.
Do I need a referral to come?
Most patients don’t need a Physician’s Referral to access Physical Therapy. In the State of Tennessee, a Licensed Physical Therapist can evaluate and treat your ailments for 15 visits or 30 days, which ever one comes first. This is called the Direct Access Period. The only exception to this rule is if your insurance company requires you to have a doctor’s prescription for therapy such as Bluecare, Humana Gold Plus, or Amerigroup to name a few. For all others, even once your Direct Access Period ends, if you have a primary care physician, we can fax off your records to then, have them signed, and that counts as your referral!
What insurances are you in-network with?
We are in-network with all major insurance companies except Tricare Prime and United HealthCare of River Valley. Feel free to give us a call if you’d like to ask us directly if we take your particular insurance.
What will my insurance cover?
This is completely dependent on each insurance policy. However, we always call on your benefits prior to your first appointment so you know up front if any financial responsibility is required. If requested, we can call you prior to your first appointment and have that discussion with you then.
Are orthotics covered by insurance?
Orthotics are not covered by insurance. They are a cash price only. However, we can give you all the paperwork to file your insurance directly, if you’d like. You and your therapist will decide if you need custom casted orthotics or custom fabricated orthotics.
How will I know how often to come or when I'm discharged?
On your first visit, your therapist will discuss with you how many times it is recommended that you attend therapy and their projected time for rehabilitation. This can obviously be extended or shortened based on multiple factors. However, you and your therapist will be in constant communication and will decide together when it is the best time for discharge.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require 24-hour notice for any rescheduling or cancelling. Late cancels incur a $25 charge applied to your account.
Do you only treat athletes?
No! We treat patients from 4 years old and up with a huge range of injuries!
